Wanna is from the Philippines and moved to Europe as a refugee where she was raised. She came to the US in 1993 earning a B.A. in Communications, and worked in the film industry as a camerawoman and graphic designer. She found yoga in 1998 as a relief from a back injury, pain and emotional trauma. In 2004 she managed psychosocial programs for refugee camps in Sri Lanka, then returned to the US and opened a yoga studio in Portland, Oregon, becoming an Anusara-Inspired teacher. In 2014 she found Embodied Flow???- a yoga practice that integrates the biomechanics and alignment of her Anusara background with the philosophy of Tantra, embodiment practices inspired by Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen, Embodied Anatomy and Somatic psychology. She is the first generation of Embodied Flow teachers and part of their core team.
Her classes are unique, engaging, dynamic and fun.
Gratitude to all her teachers: Tara Judelle, Scott Lyons, Emil Wendel, Tony Guiliano, Kenny Graham, Todd Tesen, Naime Jezzeny, Sue Elkind and John Friend.
